A Reason Evolved Religion

Religion and reason can coexist. Dogma, beliefs dictated by religious authority that are not to be questioned, is antithetical to reason, but religion does not have to be dogmatic. Reason has created and verified enough knowledge that we can now base a belief system on what we know and how we know it. There is an epic story of creation, prosperity, sin and redemption that we can all believe in because reason has revealed it to us.

About the Book

New Atenism: A Reason-Evolved Religion is an invitation to
rethink what religion can be in an age of science, pluralism, and accelerating knowledge. Drawing on Spinoza’s idea of God as Nature, modern psychology, and the history of human progress, Matt Ward argues that reason itself is the unseen
force that has lifted humanity from scarcity to prosperity. Rather than replacing traditional faiths, New Atenism offers a shared foundation beneath them — where knowledge humility, collective inquiry, and moral evolution unite us. This is not a call to abandon meaning, but to ground it in reality — building
a future shaped not by dogma, but by the disciplined pursuit of truth.
